Youth Choir Grades 6-12
Youth Choir leads music in worship periodically throughout the year. For many summers this talented group has staged and performed the Youth Choir Show. (See "Other Opportunities" below.) For more information about Youth Choir, contact Geoffrey Waite, 733-7156 ext. 19.
United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) Grades 6-12 in Room 319
Junior High youth meet 4 - 5:30 pm in Room 319 with supper for Jr. and Sr. High in the dining room on the second floor from 5:30 to 6 pm. After supper, the Sr. High youth move to the youth lounge in room 319. In UMYF, youth learn, play, and grow together through community service projects, spiritual enrichment, Bible study, missions, faith and fellowship.
Youth Mission Trip Workers in Mexico
Youth Mission Trips In years past the youth have taken a week out of their summer to go for a mission trip to Mexico where they have built and repaired houses and interacted with the families that benefit from their help. Given the recent problems in Mexico, a mission trip to Mexico is not in the forseeable future. However, other mission trips may be in the works.
Youth Choir Show Most summers the youth choir stages and performs a costumed show of selected Broadway show tunes. Youth Choir Director Geoffrey Waite and Youth Director Paul Seeman work together with the youth on this project. Mid-winter Retreats Jr. and Sr. High groups each spend a weekend (on separate dates in January / February) at various camp sites in the scenic Texas Hill Country. Together they explore Bible truths through Bible study, music, fun, and fellowship. Summer Camps Youth have opportunities to attend area Methodist summer camps which offer Christ to all in every season.
